About

Hi, I'm Sijia Cai👋

I am a Ph.D. student at Department of Astronomy, Tsinghua University, working with Prof. Zheng Cai. I study high-redshift galaxies through multi-wavelength observations, with emphasis on galaxy formation, evolution, and the early universe.

In my life, I enjoy walking in nature, playing basketball, and sometimes creating music. Click to play/pause my music ▹▹▹

Metal-poor and Pop III galaxies

Extremely Metal-Poor / Pop III Galaxies

Population III galaxies are the first generation of galaxies formed from pristine gas containing only hydrogen and helium. Due to their expected top-heavy initial mass function, they exhibit strong ionizing spectra. I focus on searching for such galaxies using JWST and ground-based telescopes, and on calibrating their metallicities, with the aim of improving our understanding of cosmic metal enrichment.

JWST NIRSpec Reduction

JWST NIRSpec Reduction

The JWST NIRSpec offers unprecedented multi-object spectroscopy across the near-infrared, enabling detailed studies of high-redshift galaxies and their physical properties. I am experienced in reducing NIRSpec data.
